The Beasley Firm, LLC is proud to announce that our case was one of the Top 50 Wrongful Death Verdicts in the United States in 2018!
The Top 50 Wrongful Death Verdicts in the United States in 2018 list is published by TopVerdict.com. The website also makes “Top” lists for different states, and in other categories such as personal injury verdicts, car accident verdicts, premises liability verdicts, and labor & employment settlements. Within each list, winning cases are ranked according to the amount of the verdict. Each entry in the lists shows the attorneys who were involved and the state where it took place (for national lists). Entries also include information about the “type” of case, which may include categories such as “asbestos exposure,” “negligent tort,” or “truck accident.”
Our case was listed as the 28th highest wrongful death verdict of the year, at an amount of $20 million. Kimble v. Laser Spine Institute, et al. was a victory spearheaded by Attorney Lane R. Jubb, Jr., of The Beasley Firm, LLC. It was listed with the “type” categories of medical malpractice, hospital malpractice, professional malpractice, wrongful death, overmedication, premature discharge, anesthesia error, negligent tort, vicarious liability, and respondeat superior. The case involved a spinal surgery patient whose death was caused by drugs prescribed by the Laser Spine Institute. The victim was found dead in a hotel room, where she was discharged by the Laser Spine Institute following the surgery.
Attorney Jubb achieved this verdict after successfully serving as lead counsel on another multi-million dollar case less than a year before. The previous verdict established him as the youngest lawyer in the United States to win a multi-million dollar medical malpractice case.
Congratulations to Attorney Lane R. Jubb, Jr. and our entire legal team. Our inclusion on this list is a major accomplishment and a testament to our firm’s hard work.
